The Waterloo Whitetips swimmer

Are you interested in trying a slightly different sport that will help keep you in shape? Why not join us for an evening of underwater hockey. Its co-ed,its non-contact, and it certainly is different.

Underwater hockey is a very fast moving game that quickly builds swimming skills. It is played on the bottom of a swimming pool by two teams of six. Players wear fins, mask, snorkel, a protective glove, and of course a swimsuit. The stick is short, approximately 1 foot long, the puck is heavy, around 3 lb., and the goal is 3 meters (10') long. Substitute players are allowed (oxygen is our friend).

A few of us picked up this sport by playing over in Guelph and have started a local game to allow us beginners some room to have some fun. The Waterloo Whitetips are a small but growing group of mostly new players playing hard and having fun.
