Harder-Gissing is a small family owned and operated business that is passionate about Space and Exploration. We have been involved in machining and manufacturing of small parts for the space community since 2004. Since then we have manufactured prototypes used in various space research efforts, and working satelites.
Our area of expertise is helping individuals bring their ideas to a material form. If you looking to have a critical piece made for your proof of concept, demonstrator, or even for your undergrad, masters or PhD project, we can help you. Where many machine shops will only look at a project with completed CAD drawings, or a minimum production run, Harder Gissing will literally take the scanned napkin drawing and work from that. We have skills in CAD/CAM and CNC programming. With our onsite facilities, lathe and 2.5 axis CNC mill, we can take your idea to fulfillment. We also are well located in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge area where arrangements can be made for specialized coatings, and manufacturing techniques can be brought in to supplement our own capabilities. Robert Gissing received his Honors Bachelors of Arts in History with a minor in Classical Studies at the University of Waterloo, in 1991. After his degree, Robert worked in industry as a network administrator and software quality assurance professional but always staying involved in machining, technology and space. In 2004 Robert returned to school and began working concurrently on a Mechanical Engineering Technician Certificate and General Machinist Apprenticeship at Conestoga College in Kitchener Ontario. He received his certificate in 2006 Robert lives in Kitchener, Ontario with his wife and business partner Laureen Harder-Gissing and their two children. |
